The week ahead: Above-normal temperatures and (mostly) quiet weather
Hello everyone! Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Monday, April 29th, 2024 and the rest of the week ahead.
Warmer than normal temperatures will be the rule this week, though not to the degree we saw back in mid-April as temperatures then reached the 90s for the first time in 2024.
We start Monday in the upper 50s, warming to around the low 80s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
Tuesday turns a little warmer along with a few more clouds as a disturbance approaches the area, though the metro area should stay dry.
That being said, I won’t rule out a few showers or thunderstorms further inland, though.
Temperatures Tuesday top out in the mid-80s, and we’ll keep that energy going through the rest of the week and into the weekend.
The only significant rain chance of the workweek arrives Wednesday with a little bit of sea breeze convergence that might kick off a few showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Otherwise, we stay mostly dry until perhaps Saturday as another disturbance looks to tick shower and storm chances back into the slight category for the weekend.
However, as is usually the case in the warm season, slight shower and thunderstorm chances are far from a washout that’ll ruin your weekend plans.
And finally, a programming note.
Look for a more regular podcast schedule to resume starting with this episode tonight.
Thankfully, things are calming back down to where getting back on a schedule with the weather is feasible, so here we are.
And knock on wood, hopefully not going anywhere for a while.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for April 29th, 2024.
