Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, April 12th, 2024 and the upcoming weekend.

Well, it was a very soggy Thursday with rainfall records falling across the area before the morning was even over.

The airport received 1.91 inches of rain, and that broke the record of 1.59 inches set in 1955.

But downtown took the cake though.

Waterfront Park received 3.23 inches of rain, and that breaks the record of 1.69 inches also set in 1955.

The good news is that the rain will be a distant memory come Friday.

It will be very, very sunny, and a bit cooler than the previous couple days as well.

We’ll start in the mid-50s, warming to the mid-70s in the afternoon.

The only real fly in the ointment will be the wind, with gusts to 30 mph possible at times as high pressure builds in, so be careful if you’re driving on bridges and overpasses.

Saturday will start even a little cooler, with lows around 50 degrees expected before we warm to the mid-70s in the afternoon under predominantly sunny skies once again.

It’ll still be a bit breezy during the day, with winds generally in the 10-15 mph range, but it’ll overall be a great day to get outdoors.

Winds slacken and the 80s return on Sunday, with just a few clouds from time to time dotting an otherwise sunny sky.

This is going to kick off a stretch of several days in the 80s, with the closest flirtation with 90 so far in 2024 possible later next week.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for April 12th, 2024.
