Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd, 2024.

It was a very wet start to March, with record rainfall at Charleston International Airport.

As of 11pm, 3.03 inches of rain has fallen, breaking the March 1st daily record of 1.44 inches set in 2009.

Thankfully, surface low pressure will have pulled well away from the low country by Saturday morning, but we’re not going to get completely off the hook for rain chances just yet as a lingering front and warm air mass continue to hang out.

Temperatures will run well above normal, we’ll start the day in the upper 50s, warming to the low 70s in the afternoon.

Cloud cover will feature prominently, and as mentioned, there is the risk for a few showers from time to time, but we should have a decent amount of rain free time as well.

In fact, the evening high resolution guidance has been pointing more to the best chance of showers being in the morning, with some improvement into afternoon.

Sunday will be similar as the front continues to hang around, we’ll start the day in the mid to upper 50s once again, warming to the low 70s with sun peeking through cloud cover occasionally.

A small risk of showers remains, but we’ll overall be less likely to see rain on Sunday than we were on Saturday.

Shower chances will quiet down completely for Sunday evening, leading to a dry Monday before shower and thunderstorm chances return to the forecast for Tuesday through much of the upcoming week.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for March 2nd, 2024.
