Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, and the rest of the work week.

Unseasonable warmth continues for one more day before it’s blended by a sharp cold front and will bring a few late showers Wednesday, followed by much cooler weather on Thursday.

We start Wednesday with low temperatures approaching 60 degrees, warming to the upper 70s to maybe even 80 in the afternoon ahead of the aforementioned front.

Now if you’re closer to the coast, it won’t get quite as warm as the cooler waters will help limit high temperatures to the low 70s and perhaps even the upper 60s at the beaches.

It’ll be breezy too as the pressure gradient tightens ahead of the front.

We should stay rain free through the daylight hours, but from there a thin line of showers, which has been depicted on models for the past several days, should move by generally after dark and produce a little bit of rain, but nothing too impactful.

Now the impacts from the front will come in the form of a sharp cool down for leap day.

We start Thursday in the mid 40s, only warming to the low 60s in the afternoon with more clouds than not and breezy northeasterly winds.

Winds will slacken a little bit Thursday night into early Friday, though that will be short lived as low pressure spins up offshore later on Friday.

Shower chances increase throughout Friday as moisture overruns the wedge and the aforementioned low pressure develops, with rain chances peaking Friday night into Saturday morning.

Temperatures are currently forecast in the mid 60s, but downward revisions to that forecast certainly seem possible as we learn more about the strength of the wedge.

Stay tuned.

We should see temperatures head back to the low 70s for the weekend, though some rain chances will hang around, particularly on Saturday.

Overall, March will start on a warm note as above normal temperatures persist in the middle of next week at least.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for February 28th, 2024.
