Wednesday's forecast: Still chilly, but warming up ahead of a front to close the work week
Hello everyone! Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 and the rest of the work week.
Wednesday gets off to another chilly start.
Expect lows in the mid-30s in the metro to start the day, and I wouldn’t rule out a pocket or two of temperatures near freezing as well.
From there, uninhibited sunshine warms us to the low 60s as high pressure moves overhead.
This is still a touch below normal for late February, but overall not too bad.
High pressure slips offshore overnight Wednesday, setting up southerly flow that’ll warm us up for Thursday.
Expect lows around 40 degrees to yield to highs in the mid to upper 60s in the afternoon.
Cloud cover will be on the increase ahead of a cold front, but the rain holds off until Friday morning or so as the aforementioned front moves through the area.
Friday will get off to the warmest start this week as lows only drop to the low 50s.
Highs should peak in the upper 60s to around 70 with shower activity in the area for a good bit of the day.
Thunderstorm or two can’t be totally discounted, but severe weather is not expected.
The front clears the area later Friday, just in time to set up a beautiful weekend across the low country with highs in the mid 60s and lots of sunshine.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for February 21st, 2024.
