Tuesday's forecast: Chilly start, but plenty of sunshine
Hello everyone! Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Tuesday, February 20th, 2024.
Temperatures could drop to freezing for the first time in almost a month on Tuesday morning, as clear skies and light winds allow for good radiational cooling conditions across the area.
The aforementioned light wind will make it feel even a few degrees cooler, with windchills bottoming out in the upper 20s as we get back to regular order after Washington’s birthday.
Temperatures rebound nicely, though, heading to the low 60s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
The rest of the workweek will feature a gradual warming trend.
Wednesday gets off to another chilly, but not quite freezing start, as lows bottom out in the mid 30s.
Temperatures on Wednesday should warm to the low to mid 60s in the afternoon, with sunshine once again factoring prominently into the sky character.
And as the air mass modifies, Thursday will run a little bit warmer, starting around 40 degrees and heading to the upper 60s in the afternoon, with just a few clouds dotting the landscape from time to time.
Clouds increase overnight Thursday into Friday, as a cold front approaches the area.
We’ll start Friday in the low 50s before warming to the low 70s in the afternoon as breezy southwesterly winds pump in warmer air ahead of the aforementioned front.
Scattered showers will be possible during the afternoon and evening, clearing out along with the front late on Friday.
And this will yield to a beautiful weekend, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures a little above mid to late February normals.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for February 20th, 2024.
