Weekend forecast: Clouds and cooler air move in
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th, 2024.
This stretch of 70s has come to an end as a cold front swinging through Saturday will bring temperatures back to earth a little bit.
We start Saturday in the low 50s, courtesy of a cloud deck helping to blanket us a little bit.
The cloud deck holds tight as the front moves by, and this will help keep temperatures capped to the mid 60s in the afternoon.
It looks too dry near the surface to support much in the way of any rain as the front moves by, though I wouldn’t totally rule out some sprinkles in spots.
But otherwise the vast majority of us will get Saturday in rain free.
Cooler air works into the area for Sunday behind that front, and we’re going to feel it Sunday morning as low as bottom out in the low 40s.
Temperatures during the day Sunday will only reach the mid 50s, roughly around Saturday’s low, as cloud cover generally holds tight.
There will be some peaks of sun at times, but more clearing won’t take place until early next week.
This chill won’t last terribly long, though, as the air mass moderates fairly quickly starting on Monday.
We get to the low to mid 60s on Monday, and highs will be flirting with 70 degrees again before you know it, perhaps by midweek.
And just a quick programming note that we’re going to take Saturday night off of the podcast, given relatively quiet weather, but we’ll be back on Sunday night with a look at your week ahead.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for February 17th, 2024.
