Hello everyone! Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Monday, January 29th, 2024 and the week ahead.

Well, there’s not too much to write home about in the weather department this week, and we’re all the better for it.

We won’t be setting any record highs this go-around as the pattern generally favors a trough over the eastern half of the country, but it won’t be strong enough to usher in a ton of cold air either, so our temperatures will stay generally within spitting distance of normal.

Temperatures on Monday start out in the low 40s and warm to the low 60s, pretty much right on the nose for where we should be in late January under mostly sunny skies.

Dry air and mostly sunny skies prevail on Tuesday too, with a slightly cooler start in the upper 30s and a slightly warmer finish in the low to mid 60s.

The only mentionable shower chance of the work week arrives on Wednesday as an upper low dips through the mid Atlantic states.

This will help kick up an area of low pressure and a weak front that will draw a little bit more moisture northward.

However, this will largely manifest in the form of increased cloud cover and maybe a shower or two in the afternoon.

Thursday through Saturday look relatively quiet as high pressure generally remains in control, though that will start to slip away over the weekend as a front approaches the area from the north.

We could see some showers and slightly cooler temperatures on Sunday as another upper low affects the area, kicking up surface low pressure in the Gulf that will likely be more of a weather maker for this time next week.

And finally, it’s worth noting that we’ve turned the climatological corner heading into spring.

Local temperatures have bottomed out and will begin to climb from here through mid-summer.

This is not to say that additional cold snaps aren’t possible, oh they most certainly are, but overall the baseline is headed upward.

And if you like that, you’re probably loving the later sunsets too.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for January 29th, 2024.
