Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, January 26, 2024, and the rest of the weekend.

Unseasonable warmth continues for a few more days before a front swings through on Sunday.

Expect highs to get within spitting distance of a record on Friday, with upper 70s expected across much of the area.

For reference, the record high for January 26th is 80 degrees, set in 1950.

The warm temperatures may cause some fog to develop in the morning, while sea fog may persist for much of the day owing to the much warmer air atop the cooler waters.

Showers will once again factor into the weather picture on Friday, and there could be some rumbles of thunder as well, but it won’t rain all day at any one location.

Just be ready to dodge some rain at times.

Saturday looks fairly similar, with temperatures topping out in the mid-70s after another low 60s start and fog potential in the morning.

A stalled front stays to our west, and that, combined with disturbances in the flow aloft, will once again instigate a few scattered showers throughout the day.

A secondary front will move into the area on Sunday, putting an end to this string of unseasonable warmth.

It will start Sunday in the low 60s one more time, with the potential for showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two ahead of the front as it passes through.

It should be through by mid-afternoon or so, ending the rain threat and ushering in a drier air mass.

By Monday, we’re feeling much more like January, with highs topping out right around 60 degrees, right back in line with climatological norms for this point in the year.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for January 26, 2024.
