Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Monday, December 11th, 2023, as well as the week ahead.

A cold front will clear the area overnight on Sunday, leaving us with a much cooler but sunnier day on Monday.

We start Monday in the mid 40s, but despite that sunshine, cool air blowing into the area throughout the day will keep high temperatures suppressed to the mid to upper 50s.

Cool high pressure continues to settle in on Tuesday, and we’ll start the day in the mid 30s with the potential for some temperatures to dip towards freezing, particularly in some of the more rural areas.

Otherwise, Tuesday looks similar to Monday, with temperatures in the upper 50s and just a few clouds at times.

Wednesday will be subtly warmer, with highs topping out in the low 60s after an upper 30s start under partly cloudy skies.

From there, a reinforcing cold front moves by late Wednesday into Thursday.

This will bring a fresh shot of cooler air to the area, keeping Thursday’s highs in the mid 50s with a little more cloud cover as a result of the frontal passage.

Plenty of dry air near the surface will keep us rain free, though.

We stay rain free heading into Friday, which will be another chilly day as we start in the mid 30s on the way to the mid to upper 50s in the afternoon.

Unfortunately, another round of unsettled weather is possible this weekend as a storm system in the Gulf could help a trough of low pressure develop near the coast, and that’s going to keep some showers in the forecast on Saturday, with slightly better chances on Sunday.

We’ll see how this plays out, there’s still model disagreement this far out, so stay tuned and don’t cancel anything just yet, but stay tuned.

Showers do look to warm slightly for the weekend, though, with lows in the low 40s and highs in the low 60s expected, just a click or two on the cool side of normal for this point in December.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for December 11th, 2023.
