Rest of the work week: A few more days of above-normal temperatures before changes arrive this weekend
Hello everyone! Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 and the rest of the work week.
More unseasonable warmth continues for Wednesday under predominantly sunny skies.
We’ll start the day in the low 50s in the metro area, warmer near the coast, a little cooler further inland, and warm to the low 80s in the afternoon.
The only potential weather concern could be some smoke mixing in at times for fires in Alabama and Georgia.
The smoke acted to send air quality into code yellow status on Tuesday and could do so again on Wednesday, so if you’re sensitive to smoke, consider limiting outdoor activity.
Thursday is going to start on the warmer side, with lows bottoming out generally in the upper 50s.
A few more clouds will dot the skies on Thursday, but we should still get plenty of sunshine as temperatures head back to the low 80s once again.
As a cold front gets closer to the area, we’ll see that cloud cover begin to increase, and Friday should provide a decent mix of sun and clouds with one more day in the 80s before big changes arrive behind that front for the weekend.
We’ll cool to the mid 60s for highs on Saturday and again on Sunday as high pressure wedges southward into the area.
Overrunning moisture atop the wedge will keep cloud cover and shower chances in play, particularly on Sunday as the surface trough moves ashore.
While it probably won’t be much in the way of rain accumulations-wise, it’ll at least be more than we had.
So while you can, try and get out and enjoy some of the warmer and sunnier weather over the next few days.
And finally, the tropics remain quiet.
22 days to go! But again, who’s counting?
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for November 8th, 2023.
