Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Saturday, October 28th, and Sunday, October 29th, 2023.

Well, we’re going to remain unseasonably warm this weekend, with lows around 60 degrees and highs in the mid-80s each afternoon, with plenty of sunshine to be had.

Unsurprisingly, these temperatures will run well above normal for the last weekend in October, and we should be in the low 50s in the mornings and the mid-70s in the afternoons at this point in the year, but so it goes.

In fact, we could challenge a 77-year-old record high on Sunday as temperatures head to around 85.

The main weather concerns this weekend will be a high risk of rip currents at the beaches, as well as the risk for minor coastal flooding with the morning high tides.

We could see a couple roads closed as a result, generally around 7-9am or so.

The good news is, it’s the weekend, and so there’s not going to be as much commute traffic.

So keep an ear out for coastal flood advisories from the National Weather Service, and that’s going to alert you to the time for the greatest risk for flooding.

The fall fans hang in there just a few more days.

Changes are coming next week, and you know, we’re just going to have to call this a sweater weather watch at this point, folks.

Highs could only tomp out around 60 degrees beginning on Wednesday and heading into Thursday next week, and lows could possibly dip into the upper 30s in a few spots on Thursday morning, too.

So stay tuned for updates, but this is really looking like a good shot of cool air for those of you who are into that sort of thing.

In the tropics, zombie Tammy has indeed regenerated into a tropical cyclone just east of Bermuda.

It will move eastward and then start turning a little more to the south, weakening as it goes, well out into the Atlantic, no worries for land.

Tammy is not a concern for us here in the Lowcountry, but hey, who doesn’t love a good zombie story for Halloween?

The area in the Caribbean that we talked about last night has a 30% chance to become a tropical cyclone over the next few days.

It’s very early in the game to know exactly where it’s going ahead, but the upcoming pattern suggests that this is not really going to be an issue for us here in Charleston either.

Troughing setting up, series of fronts coming through, should help deflect it away, but we’ll keep an eye on it.

And finally, with a nice weekend ahead, I’m going to take Saturday off again.

I’ll be back on Sunday evening with a look at your week ahead.
