Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, October 27th, 2023 and the upcoming weekend.

Above normal warmth will continue for the next few days as high pressure hangs on tight across the area.

High temperatures will run in the low 80s each afternoon, with lows in the low 60s for Friday and Saturday before dipping ever so slightly below 60 on Sunday.

This is well above normal for this point in the year.

A typical late October day looks like lows in the low 50s and highs in the mid 70s.

And if it’s rain you’re looking for, you’re not going to find much of that here.

We’ve seen a few sprinkles drift ashore in the evenings, but nothing measurable to speak of.

Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies will stay firmly in place for Friday and the weekend as deep dry air remains in place.

And over the next few days, it really doesn’t look like we’re going to have many shots in any measurable rain at all.

In fact, you kind of have to go a little far into model fantasy land to really start to see that first rain chance to kick in, maybe in the second week of November?

We’re definitely in a dry spell right now, folks.

While not much has panned out flooding-wise to this point, astronomical tides will be highest over the next few days, and we may see some flooding with at least the morning high tides beginning Friday.

The highest water levels are expected Sunday morning, when minor to moderate flooding will be possible.

So stay alert for possible coastal flood advisories from the National Weather Service to know when the risk for saltwater flooding downtown will be highest.

In the tropics, there’s two areas to watch for possible development over the next few days.

The first area is near Bermuda, and you guessed it, the remnants of TAMI could redevelop into a tropical cyclone, perhaps just in time for Halloween.

But don’t worry, zombie TAMI is not going to be any risk to us here at home.

The second area is in the southern Caribbean.

Low pressure is expected to form here over the next few days, and has a 20% chance right now to become a tropical cyclone.

Tropicals are, as usual, mixed on its prospects at this point.

However, given the location of this disturbance, we’ll keep an eye on it.

It’s the Caribbean-based storms at this point in the year that can sneak up on you.

Not saying that this one will, of course, but that’s why we watch them, to make sure they behave.

And, of course, it serves as a reminder that hurricane season runs through November 30th.

So we’re not done yet, but we’re getting close.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for October 27th, 2023.
