Tuesday's forecast: Another beautiful day (aside from midday tidal flooding)
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023.
And what a brilliant day Tuesday should be in the weather department anyway.
We’ll start the day in the low 60s away from the locally warmer coastline.
Mostly sunny skies will help send temperatures to the low 80s in the afternoon, with comfortable humidity once again and a decent northeasterly to easterly breeze.
The only weather concern for Tuesday will be the risk for moderate flooding around high tide, which is forecast to peak around 1145 AM.
Be aware of this possibility if you’ve got to venture out a little downtown around lunchtime.
We keep the nice weather going Wednesday as well before some more moisture works into the area for Thursday and Friday ahead of a cold front.
We could see a shower or storm on those afternoons, but nothing too outrageous.
The front gets through Saturday, and by Sunday we will feel like we’ve been properly transported into October, as temperatures take a dive into the mid 50s in the morning, followed by mid 70s highs in the afternoon.
We’re not quite yet to the point where a sweater weather watch will be needed, but we’re making progress.
Finally, we continue to watch Philippe as it brings heavy rain and gusty winds to the northern leeward islands.
It will slowly pull away from there over the next couple days, and by Wednesday it should start to gain some strength as it increasingly accelerates north and then northeastward.
There is a chance it could become a hurricane over the weekend, but by then it will be very far removed from any landmasses.
Otherwise, the Atlantic is behaving, and there are no tropical threats to the Low Country now or in the foreseeable future.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for October 3rd, 2023.
