Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Tuesday, September 19th, 2023.

We have another very nice day coming up for Tuesday.

Much of us start the day in the low 60s, with inland locations potentially dipping into the upper 50s.

Folks along the coast should see lows bottom out in the upper 60s thanks to the marine influence, but otherwise not too bad.

Temperatures head to the mid 80s in the afternoon, and this, mixed with low 50s dewpoints, should yield a comfortably warm day across the low country.

Rain will be in abundance, and it will be another good day to try to get outside when time allows.

We keep the comfortable temperatures in the forecast for Wednesday, with a little bit more humidity as onshore flow begins to take hold.

This will drive cloud cover up a bit, but we should stay rain free.

Storm chances return Thursday afternoon, as dewpoints continue to climb into the mid 60s with a sharpening coastal trough providing a focal point for storms.

And as we get into Friday, surface low pressure along a stalled front driped across Florida could begin to lift northward, and the gradient between this low offshore and high pressure in New England will start to drive winds up a little bit, particularly along the coast.

Occasional showers and thunderstorms will also be possible within the onshore flow.

Now it remains to be seen if this area of low pressure acquires some subtropical characteristics as it moves northward.

The hurricane center gives this low a 30% chance to do just that over the next few days.

The tropical characteristics are not, it does look like an unsettled weekend is ahead, but nothing to hide your cow statue over.

Stay tuned to forecast updates as this somewhat uncertain forecast is refined over the next few days.

Aside from this one area of concern, there are no other areas for us to be really worried about in the tropics right now.

Nigel will stay safely out to sea, and another wave emerging from Africa does have a 70% chance to develop in the eastern Atlantic over the next week.

However, it’s way out there, and there’s plenty of time to watch it in the unlikely event it does become something worth watching.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for September 19th, 2023.
