Friday & the weekend: Stormy end to the work week followed by more traditional summertime weather
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, August 11th, 2023, as well as a look at the upcoming weekend.
Heat and humidity remain in full force for Friday and the weekend.
Expect lows in the mid to upper 70s to continue each morning, with highs in the mid 90s each afternoon.
Mix in the persistent mid 70s dew points, and you’ve got heat and disease running well into the 100s, perhaps approaching 110 at times.
As far as thunderstorm chances go, the best chance for us to see some storms will be Friday as a disturbance moves by in the afternoon.
This disturbance will aid in the development of numerous showers and thunderstorms heading toward the coast during the afternoon and evening hours.
A few storms could be on the strong side, with some wind damage possible in a couple spots, with heavy rain and frequent lightning the more widespread concerns.
Most of you will not see severe weather, but be ready in case a warning is issued.
The pattern then turns more towards a typical summertime setup over the weekend, with sea breeze thunderstorms each afternoon.
Coverage may be a tick higher on Saturday than it will be on Sunday, and regardless, not everyone will see storms, and there’s certainly no concerns for a total washout.
Just be ready to bring outdoor activities inside if storms approach.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for August 11th, 2023.
