Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, August 4th, 2023, and a look at the upcoming weekend.

After a couple reasonably quiet days featuring almost pleasant air for early August, moisture returns for Friday with 90s to follow for the weekend.

Friday will feature periods of showers and thunderstorms, with perhaps a messy morning commute as high resolution models suggest heavy rain in the area at daybreak.

We start the day in the mid-70s and highs head only into the mid-80s or so, giving cloud cover and showers and thunderstorms in the vicinity, pretty much for the balance of the day.

Severe weather appears unlikely, but some areas could see heavy rain, leading to minor flooding in some spots.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue into Saturday before tapering off somewhat Saturday evening.

Expect highs to reach around 90 degrees, with heat into season in the mid-to-upper 90s, courtesy of the mid-70s dewpoints that will once again be taking residence across the area.

And once again, heavy rain and lightning will be the main concern for the strongest storms.

Sunday looks a little more like a traditional summer day, with generally isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms and highs topping back out in the low 90s.

Mix and load of mid-70s dewpoints will yield heat into seas generally in the 101-103 range at peak heating before storms start to disrupt the environment a bit.

And finally, another round of minor coastal flooding appears possible with Friday night’s high tide.

That will top out around 11-23pm or so.

The total water level forecast for Charleston Harbor as of this recording, late Thursday night, is currently around 7.2-7.4 feet, and that’s enough to close a few roads once again in downtown Charleston.

So if you’ve got plans out and about late Friday night, you’ll want to keep an eye on tides and road conditions, as you may need to find alternate routes.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for August 4th, 2023.
