Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Tuesday, August 1st, 2023.

Yes, it’s already August, if you can believe that.

After another stormy night on Monday, we should see a little less in the way of shower and storm coverage on Tuesday, but we’ll still see some scattered storms in the afternoon and evening hours.

A little drier air will be working into the area to help stem that threat a little bit more though, and the onshore flow should keep air temperatures just below 90 degrees.

Heat indices will still top out around 95-96, but that’s a far cry from where we’ve been recently.

After all, we take whatever improvement we can get in a Charleston summer.

Rain chances take a dip mid-week, along with temperatures.

Highs in the mid-80s will be common from Wednesday through at least Friday, as onshore flow keeps temperatures down somewhat.

We’ll have some drier air for a couple days too, and that’ll make things feel almost pleasant outside.

There’ll be a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm each day, generally along the sea breeze, but chances are most of us are going to get the next few days in rain-free.

Coastal flooding will be a threat for much of the rest of the week with evening high tides.

The tide on Monday night peaked around 7.52 feet mean low or low water, and we could see a near-repeat performance Tuesday evening with high tide around 8.43 pm, generally expected to top out in the 7.3-7.5 foot range.

All that to say is be ready for another round of road closures if you are out and about tomorrow evening in downtown Charleston.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for August 1st, 2023.
