Weekend forecast: Off and on storms on Saturday give way to a warmer and more summer-like Sunday
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with the Charleston weather forecast for Saturday, July 29th, 2023.
Off and on showers and thunderstorms are the main concern for Saturday’s forecast as a tropical low lifts north through the area.
As of this recording on Friday night, the low had a fairly decent radar presentation, but there is no concern for tropical development as the storm is inland.
Friday’s rain kept highs in the mid 80s in the afternoon for only the second time in 34 days, according to some research tweeted by WCSC Live 5 Warning Meteorologist Joey Sovine.
We should make it a third day on Saturday as the aforementioned rainfall should keep temperatures below 90 degrees one more time before we warm up on Sunday.
Sunday figures to be somewhat drier during the day in the wake of the disturbance lifting away from the area, and that’s going to allow temperatures to head back into the mid 90s in the afternoon.
And you mix in the remnant tropical air mass, and you’re talking heat and disease ranging from 105 to 110.
So take heat precautions if you’re going to be outdoors during the afternoon.
We could see some afternoon and evening thunderstorms, and we’ll also want to keep an eye on the possibility for a thunderstorm complex to try to approach the area from the northwest late.
It’s tough, though, to predict those with much certainty beyond a day out, so stay tuned for updates.
The bottom line for your weekend is that it’s not going to be a total washout.
It’s not going to rain all day, every day, at any one location.
You’ll just want to be flexible with your plans in case storms approach.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for July 29th, 2023.
