Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Thursday, July 27th, 2023.

Well stop me if you’ve heard this one.

We have another warm and somewhat muggy day ahead for Thursday, with a few storms in the afternoon.

Highs top out in the low 90s and mix in the humidity, and will feel about 10 degrees warmer.

Max heat index should top out around 102-103.

A little more moisture will be available on Thursday, and that should give storms a better shot to develop and sustain themselves, with some locally heavy rain and maybe even a strong wind gust or two.

We’ll start to see high pressure weaken heading into Friday and the weekend, and this will bring rain chances up a little bit each afternoon.

We could even see some scattered storms by mid-morning on Friday, but again no washouts are expected either Friday or into the weekend.

Temperatures will continue to run on the warm side of normal, expect low 90s on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday’s air temperatures heading back into the mid-90s.

This will yield peak heat indices at or above 105 degrees each afternoon, and so you want to make sure you’re taking heat safety precautions as a result if you’re outdoors.

Remember that danger zone for heat exhaustion starts really at 105.

And finally we’re peaking at the tropics.

Two areas of concern closest to the US, including the one that was highlighted off the southeast US coast, have been taken off the map by the Hurricane Center.

So now really the only area that we need to keep an eye on is going to be the central Atlantic this weekend.

A wave is going to move into more favorable territory for tropical development, and the models are starting to get a little bit more on board with the idea of this.

The Hurricane Center gives it a 40% chance of development primarily later this weekend and early next week.

And so there’s plenty of time for us to keep an eye on this, and there’s no immediate concerns for the low country.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for July 27th, 2023.
