Tuesday's forecast: A standard summer day in the Lowcountry
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Tuesday, July 25th, 2023.
Expect a fairly run-of-the-mill late July weather day on Tuesday.
We start in the low to mid-70s, at least away from the coast, which is probably not going to drop too far below 80, and warm into the mid-90s in the afternoon, a couple degrees above normal for this point in the year.
Dew points in the 70s will send peak heat indices a little over 100 degrees during the height of the afternoon.
So if you’re out and about, be careful, get a little extra water, take some breaks inside.
Nothing we can’t handle, but certainly not pleasant either.
While we may see an isolated storm or two pop up, dry mid-levels should keep them from becoming too stout.
And if you’re counting on any rain to be acting as any sort of heat relief, don’t bother.
Chances are good you’re going to stay rain-free tomorrow, and really for much of the rest of the week, although we do start to see maybe a little bit more moisture starting to move in by the end of the week.
Stay tuned.
You might have seen that the National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on a tropical wave well south of Bermuda for a slight chance of development over the next seven days as it moves towards the southeastern United States.
Now right now, I’m not seeing much in the guidance to be worried about.
We can see waves get organized over the Gulf Stream for a brief time, so the Hurricane Center will keep an eye on it.
But right now, we don’t have anything to really worry about beyond perhaps an enhancement to moisture late week into the weekend.
If things change with that, I’ll let you know.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for July 25th, 2023.
