Sunday's forecast: Another hot day, but slightly more widely scattered storms
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Sunday, July 9th, 2023.
We have another hot day in store for Sunday, though slightly drier air moving in will help keep heat indices just below 105 degrees, which passes for cooler, and yes I’m making air quotes here, for this point in the year.
We start the day in the mid-70s and warm into the mid-90s by afternoon.
The aforementioned drier air is going to keep thunderstorm chances a touch lower, scattering them out somewhat, but not stamping them out entirely.
A few storms could still be on the strong side, with a damaging wind gust or two not out of the question in addition to frequent lightning and heavy rain.
Bottom line, if a thunderstorm approaches your area, be ready to turn those outdoor plans into indoor ones.
Though again, as is customary for this point in the year, you’re going to have a pretty good amount of sunshine too.
Very, very, very rare that we get any washouts here in July.
And taking a quick peek at the upcoming work week, we have one more fairly active day possible on Monday before rain chances dip closer to the more traditional 20-30% mark each afternoon for the rest of the week.
Pretty standard mid-July heat continues with highs in the low to mid-90s each afternoon, with the warmest temperatures expected for Friday and beyond.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for July 9th, 2023.
I’m Jared Smith.
