Hello everyone, Jarrett Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Thursday, June 29th, 2023, as well as a peek into the holiday weekend.

We stay warm for Thursday with one more day of relatively dry heat in store as highs top out in the mid 90s once again under partly cloudy skies.

You can’t rule out a shower in the sea breeze.

By any stretch of the imagination, that happened on Wednesday that could happen again on Thursday, but not a big deal.

The vast majority of us are going to get the day in rain free.

Moisture then returns to the area beginning Friday, and as ridging builds aloft, both the heat and the humidity will be on the increase, driving heat indices above 100 starting Friday and lasting each afternoon into the next week.

We could approach heat indices of 110 on Sunday, perhaps prompting a heat advisory.

Heat indices solidly in the 100s continue through the July 4th holiday, with a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm to perhaps impart some relief.

But don’t count on it.

Make sure your outdoor activities this weekend involve plenty of water, sunscreen, and some breaks in the shade as well.

And you know, if a thunderstorm does approach you, just, you know, make sure you have that indoor plan B.

But we’ll keep an eye on this.

Again, we’ve got a few days to go before we get into the meat of the holiday weekend and, you know, forecast tweaks and things will just so stay tuned.

The tropics still remain largely quiet, aside from a trough of low pressure south of Bermuda that has a 20% chance of developing over the next seven days.

Even still, its northward motion will keep it well to our east, and as such, this area does not pose any concern to the Lowcountry.

And elsewhere in the tropics, things remain quiet.

And that was Charleston Weather Daily for June 29th, 2023.
