Weekend forecast: Turning calmer -- and warmer
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Saturday, June 24th, 2023, taking a peek at really a June-like weekend ahead.
The blocking pattern is finally dislodged, and we should have a much quieter and warmer weekend of weather ahead.
It’s going to feel like summer, with highs topping around 90 degrees on Saturday and well into the low 90s on Sunday.
We could see a few storms along the sea breeze Saturday, but certainly not at the coverage level that we’ve seen from time to time this week, nor will we have any thunderstorms waking us up rudely at 3am.
And Sunday looks quite likely to get in completely rain-free, although you can never totally rule out a shower this time of year, but it’s looking pretty good.
Something tells me the beaches are going to be busy this weekend, so be patient trying to get there, I think you’re going to run into some traffic.
Taking a peek at the tropics, Tropical Storm Brett has crossed into the Caribbean and is going to steadily weaken to an open wave this weekend, posing no further direct threat to mainland.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Cindy has 50 mile an hour winds as of the 5pm advisory on Friday, and is forecast to peak around 60 mph over the weekend as it heads northwest.
It’ll miss land areas completely, and is forecast to dissipate on Tuesday as it encounters strong wind shear well off the US mainland.
Suffice to say, Brett and Cindy do not pose any risk to the Lowcountry.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for June 24th, 2023.
