Friday and the weekend: Mostly quiet weather before unsettled conditions return for Juneteenth and beyond
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, June 16th, 2023, as well as the upcoming weekend.
Now we may start Friday with a few showers in the area, but those will depart by mid-morning, beginning a stretch of relatively quiet weather across the area for the weekend.
We’ll start Friday in the upper 60s before warming to near 90 in the afternoon.
Dew points will run into the low 70s though, driving heat indices up into the mid 90s.
So get ready to sweat just a little bit.
And we’ll essentially repeat this performance Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the low 70s each day and highs in the low 90s each afternoon.
And once again, dew points in the low 70s will yield heat indices in the mid 90s each afternoon as well.
Now you can never totally rule out a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening hours this time of year, and with the trough in the area.
But it does look like that much of us are going to get this weekend in rain-free and with plenty of sunshine.
So, good opportunities to get out to the beach, just leave early because I’m sure there’s going to be quite a bit of traffic.
With a lot of people having the exact same idea.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and that includes this little stretch of nice weather, because it comes to an abrupt end on Monday, as showers and storms return to the forecast for Juneteenth.
Now, showers and thunderstorms are going to be most likely in the afternoon and evening hours, although we’re not going to be able to rule out a shower or storm for much of the day.
And showers and thunderstorms are going to remain likely for much of next week, at least through Thursday.
But then again, it’s a little too soon to be worried about such things, because, you know, we do have a weekend to get through first.
And that just feels much more important.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for June 16th, 2023.
