Friday's forecast: Partly cloudy, seasonable temperatures
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Friday, June 9th, 2023, as well as the upcoming weekend.
Well, Thursday didn’t turn out as stormy as we might have first guessed, as the front sagged just far south enough to keep too much in the way of showers, much less thunderstorms, from firing across the tri-county.
The only places that saw rain on Thursday were James Island, where a pop-up shower briefly formed, and across Edisto to Seabrook as a cluster of showers and storms skirted to the south.
In any event, the weather stays quiet heading into Friday, where we’ll head into the low 80s under partly cloudy skies.
The north wind will keep temperatures a touch below normal for this point in the year, and humidity really won’t be a major factor either.
Saturday is the warmest and sunniest day of the set, as temperatures head close to 90 in the afternoon after starting rather cool for this point in the year, with expected lows in the low 60s.
So if you’re looking for a beach day, that’s the day.
Winds will go a little more southerly as high pressure slips off shore late Saturday, and by Sunday we’ll be feeling the humidity a little bit more.
We start Sunday in the upper 60s, with highs topping out in the mid to upper 80s under partly cloudy skies.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening, but the better chances for rain arrive on Monday.
And finally, we remain unlikely to feel any significant effects from smoke from the Canadian wildfires being transported south into the area.
Air quality should be good, visibility should be good, and the most we’ll likely notice is another day or two of that milky haze in the sky.
And that was Charleston Weather Daily for June 9th, 2023.
