Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, along with a peek at the rest of the workweek and a little good news for your weekend too.

After some solid thunderstorms on Tuesday evening, we had some hail, we had some gusty winds, the risk for afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue for Wednesday and Thursday before things quiet down a little Friday.

On Wednesday, we’ll get off to a muggy start with lows near 70 degrees before temperatures head into the low 90s by the early afternoon.

Down there, the sea breeze, a nearby cold front, and a little upper air support will ignite some showers and thunderstorms.

A few of those storms could be on the strong side with gusty winds and some hail.

Now the aforementioned front will sag south of the area on Thursday, but it won’t get far enough away from us for us to escape another round of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

You will notice the temperatures will run a little bit cooler on Thursday though, in the wake of the front.

Generally expect mid 80s before showers and storms enter the picture.

Now Friday looks quite nice.

Expect mostly sunny skies with highs topping out in the mid 80s.

We’ll keep this quiet weather for much of the weekend too, with the warming trend sending highs for Saturday and Sunday back into the upper 80s.

We could see an isolated storm or two Sunday afternoon and evening, but otherwise it’s looking pretty good.

Finally, we’ll continue to see smoke from wildfires in Canada over the next few days as the upper trough remains in place, and that’ll transport that smoke southward across the eastern United States.

This will give the sky a hazy look, and could enhance sunrises and sunsets, provided those sunsets aren’t obscured by storms.

Overall, we do expect most air quality issues to remain to our north, but that is something that we’re going to want to monitor over the next few days, so stay tuned for forecast updates as the week goes on.
