Tuesday's forecast: Staying cool, maybe a stray shower
Hello everyone, Jared Smith here with your Charleston weather forecast for Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023.
We keep cooler than normal temperatures in the forecast for Tuesday, and really the rest of the week.
We start the day in the low 60s before temperatures top out just around 80 degrees in the afternoon under a mix of sun and clouds.
That northeasterly breeze is going to keep things cool.
Typically, this time of year we’re looking at highs around 85, so definitely much lower than normal.
A stray shower can’t totally be ruled out in the afternoon and evening hours, but overall it looks like another nice day in the low country.
We’ll keep this up as we get over the hump into the second half of the week.
Expect highs ranging from the upper 70s to around 80 pretty much each day through Saturday.
A stray shower or thunderstorm along the sea breeze is possible each afternoon, and we may see an uptick in shower activity and a little stronger northeasterly breeze on Friday, depending on how close low pressure moving northward in the Atlantic gets close to the area.
But that looks to be the only fly in the ointment right now.
Overall, not too shabby of a forecast at all that looks to get much of, if not all of, each day in rain-free.
